The PORTAS success story began in 1974 in Germany, and our Head Office just outside Frankfurt is still at the centre of our European operations.
An international team of highly qualified staff ensures that over 500 specialist contractors in 13 European countries receive the best possible support. They arrange for the prompt delivery of machinery and materials to any destination, be it Erding, Zwickau, Hengelo or Turin.
They have at their disposal a highly efficient merchandise control system as well as an ultra-modern high rack warehouse. It only takes a phone call and every material order is despatched to its addressee via the shortest route. Thanks to this overnight service, PORTAS contractors benefit from maximum flexibililty and have no problem adhering to their delivery schedules.
PORTAS Central Warehouse has a total capacity of approximately 5,400 euro-pallets, of which 2,500 are in the new extension opened in 1998. Around 7,500 different products, ranging from door handles to raw materials for wooden staircases and aluminium window profile, are stored here ready for immediate delivery.
